The band was formed in November 1995, in St- Petersburg. They began to play in Moscow and St.-Petersburg clubs. They rapidly found a demanding audience in music fans locally,and an attentive base of club owners. Called Neo-Rockabilly-The Rattlesnakes play a blend of R''n''R, Country, Surf, Swing and Latin. The first album was released in 1997 in Sweden on DCM Records and was called "El Caballero". A video for the title track hit was made and shown on MUZ-TV,a year later the band played live on the channel for an hour.In 1999 a new album "Lady Wild" was released. The same year the band played a regular,prestigious Finnish festival,"R''N''R JAMBOREE''58".In 2000 the band headlined the "KOSMODROM" rock-festival in Karelia. In November 2001 The Rattlesnakes played the "R''N''R Ruby 2" festival with the band String Beans from Finland. Constantly experimenting in 2003 the musicians recorded a ska-punk album, "C4-Blast Inavoidable".The band participates in The Red Elvises'' annual Russian tour. In 2004 The Rattlesnakes played an after-party at the Moscow club "4 Rooms",with Quentin Tarantino and David Caradine,who brought Kill Bill-2 to The Moscow Film Festival.In August 2004 the second CD was released,"El Caballero''97/LadyWild''99 and "1999-2001 To be continued...".The band participated in "The Global Battle of the Bands"festival,and in December the band accompanied neo-rockabilly pioneer Mark Harman in Moscow. The band constantly tours Russia-Rybinsk,Penza,Yaroslavl, Pskov,Vologda,Petrozavodsk,Ekaterinburg. In summer 2005 the band participated in a number of international festivals- "Rockabilly RUUHIJARVI 2005"in Finland,"RUMBURK RUMBLE" and"ROCK FOR PEOPLE" In Czech Republic,"2nd Deal in Russland" with the German band Tony Montanas.Last November the band celebrated its 10th anniversary. The Rattlesnakes are still the most professional Russian band, and can compete on the same level with European and American bands. |
